I love everything about the new retail hub that has established itself in the old Myer building in Fremantle. Cleverly calling themselves Myre, (I love the nod to Aussie linguistics) a collection of talented local designers and artists have set up shop on the ground floor of the enormous building, creating an exciting and diverse retail location. In the months to come, the entire complex will be opened, with workshop space in the upper floors (where shoppers can watch creations being made) and live in-store demonstrations. I had a wander through with my little sister on Sunday, and we were both so impressed with what was on offer.
From WA designer threads, to unique homewares, Myre really does stock something for everyone. A definite highlight is Six Threads, a conglomerate of six really talented Western Australian designers/labels: Wild Horses, On a Whim, Tindale, Daniella Caputi, Monster Alphabets and the Butcher and the Crow.
Make sure you check out Myre next time you’re in Freo, and watch this space!
